Dating my hubs.

I’m sure all you moms out there find it so difficult to actually date your husband. I can look back on times the kids wanted to stay the night at my parents and we were so tired we just laid on the couch and watched a movie. Most of the time our conversations are totally about the kids. You never really stop being a parent. It’s not like oh the kids are gone and we’re different people. We’re still wondering did they finish reading? And do you think they took their inhaler? Anyway…  Dennis has had 2 Harley’s prior to the one he currently owns. He would always ask me to go on a ride with him and I’d be like no way Jose! Before I even start… I completely know that motorcycles are dangerous. Every time I get on or when he drives away before a ride, I pray for protection. I know Dennis is very careful but there are lots of accidents caused by other drivers not paying attention or just a general accident happening. It’s taken me years to finally go on rides with Dennis. I won’t go far and I won’t go at night. I have lots of rules to this whole biker thing.  I’ve actually started to enjoy it. I try to not think so much about  the negatives and just be present. It’s been nice. We can ride to breakfast, we ride to shop (that’s the only way he’ll shop with me) and just any little small errand we need to run. I realize we have a little more flexibility to date with our work schedules so we “date while the kids are at school” I document most of our life so I’m pretty sure you know what I’m doing 95% of the time.  I just can’t stress the importance of having fun with your spouse! Listen, it isn’t roses at my house everyday but I do know that when we actually take time for each other the stressors of life go away! I’m not saying go buy a Harley and go on a ride to solve your problems lol I’ve been married a very long time and I’m just saying it’s important to make sure both of you are enjoying the time that’s flying by! It’s been a tough bumpy road but we’re riding it on a Harley this time.
